Manufacturing Supervisor
Aeroex Technologies | Barrie, Ontario | On-site
Salary: 60,000-65,000
Aeroex Technologies designs and manufactures industrial air filtration systems, including mist, smoke, and fume collectors. We’re looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead daily production at our Barrie facility and take ownership of safety, workmanship, and on-time delivery.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands fabrication and assembly, sets clear expectations, and follows through. You’ll work closely with engineering and management to keep production moving, resolve issues, and ensure equipment leaves our facility complete and built to specification.
What you’ll do
- Supervise daily manufacturing activities across sheet metal fabrication, welding, finishing, and assembly.
- Assign work, set daily priorities, and balance labour and equipment capacity against production schedules.
- Monitor job progress, identify bottlenecks, and address material shortages or production issues before they affect delivery.
- Train and coach employees, reinforce accountability, and maintain consistent work standards.
- Ensure employees follow safe work practices and maintain clean, organized work areas.
- Coordinate with engineering, purchasing, and shipping to resolve drawing, material, and scheduling issues.
- Improve work instructions, production flow, and shop-floor practices to reduce waste and rework.
- Track production performance and communicate progress, delays, and corrective actions to management.
Quality responsibilities
Quality is a core responsibility of this position. The Manufacturing Supervisor will oversee in-process and final inspections, verify that products meet drawings and specifications, and ensure required testing and inspection records are completed.
You’ll also:
- Check fabrication accuracy, weld quality, finish, fit, and assembly workmanship.
- Identify and contain non-conforming parts or equipment before they move to the next production stage or ship.
- Investigate recurring defects with the team and engineering, implement corrective actions, and verify that they work.
- Ensure each shipment includes the correct equipment, components, accessories, and documentation.
What you bring
- Experience supervising or leading a manufacturing team, preferably in metal fabrication, industrial equipment, or mechanical assembly.
- Practical knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes, welding, and assembly.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions.
- Experience with quality inspections, measuring tools, and resolving production defects.
- Strong planning and communication skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities.
- A direct, fair leadership approach and willingness to work alongside the team when needed.
- Comfort using production tracking software, spreadsheets, and manufacturing documentation.
Experience with industrial air filtration, electrical or mechanical equipment testing, and Lean manufacturing practices would be an asset.
This role offers direct involvement in how our products are built and an opportunity to improve the way our manufacturing team operates.
